There are number of Buddhist pilgrimages in this region like Mayadevi temple, holy pond or puskarini where Buddha take his first bath accompanied with remains of Kapilvastu Palace. There is a monastery build on the holy spot where Buddha was born accompanied by Pillar of Ashoka, Nativity sculpture of Mayadevi and more others.
